Dave,

How does the Vintage Neve 1084 compare to the Avalon 2022?

Congratulations on "On Revolute"!  The tracks on your new site sound GREAT!!

The 84 is warm, sumptuous, darker.  The Avs are super transparent.  Not sure I'll pick up the 84 as they're ridiculously expensive.  But I'll find something like them.

I ended up with the Brent Averill 1073 and 1084.  I tested many units including 3 vintage Neves, Great River, Vintech and many others.  All had a noticeable difference from the vintage Neves.  But when I tried the Averills, I couldn't hear any difference at all.  They're cheaper and more reliable than vintage, they're cheaper than new AMS-Neve (which uses some Chinese parts) where as the BAE is all exact, original components from England, so it was a no-brainer.  They're awesome.
